Uneven Skin Tone

Freckles, age spots, skin disorders, and blotchiness can be frustrating. Whether it was caused by genetics, acne, or the environment having an uneven skin tone can be complicated. Which foundation color will look best? Why do I burn so bad in one area? Why do my eyes make me look so tired? This is one skin concern that takes patience to treat, but with a little hard work and dedication, you can free yourself from uneven skin.

Cleanse. Cleansing your skin with brightening ingredients is amazing for uneven skin tone. Using ingredients such as Vitamin C, and Licorice root can help even skin tone overtime. Also, exfoliating washes can help get rid of uneven skin tone, removing dead skin cells can only get you closer to fresh, new skin.

Treat. The best treatment for discoloration is any type of exfoliation. Whether it comes from a physical or chemical exfoliant, you want to remove dead cells to give new ones room to grow. Ingredients such as Glycolic, critic, malic, or tartaric acids work best on uneven skin. Vitamin C, licorice root or enzymes are gentler on the skin so those with sensitivities are less likely to react.

Moisturize. Finding a moisturizer with a citrus is very beneficial for uneven skin tone. Not only is it gentle and effective but the scent will get your senses going for a burst of energy! You can also pick a moisturizer fit for your oily, dry, or normal skin type. Stay away from bleaching creams, they are unsafe and can dry the skin.

Protect. The use of sunscreen is imperative when trying to treat uneven skin tone. Some treatments can make the skin thin and sun sensitive and without sunscreen things can get worse. Be sure to apply sunscreen with at least an SPF 30 daily. If you are going to be exposed to the sun for a prolonged period of time you must reapply SPF every two hours to ensure ultimate protection!
